Safe Church

Revesby Uniting Church is committed to being a safe, welcoming and inclusive community for everyone. We believe that every person is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and care.

What does Safe Church mean?

A Safe Church is one where people of all ages and backgrounds can participate in worship, activities and community life free from harm, abuse, harassment, discrimination and exploitation.

We are especially committed to the wellbeing and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We seek to provide environments that are physically, emotionally, spiritually and culturally safe, where people’s voices are heard and concerns are taken seriously.

Our ministers, leaders, staff and volunteers are expected to uphold the Synod’s Safe Church policies, including appropriate screening, training and standards of conduct.

If you feel unsafe or have experienced an unsafe incident

If you, or someone you know, feels unsafe or has experienced concerning behaviour in connection with our church, please tell someone. You can speak with a person you trust at Revesby Uniting Church or

Every disclosure will be received with compassion, respect and care. We will handle information confidentially wherever possible, while recognising that some concerns may need to be shared with the appropriate people or authorities to keep someone safe and meet legal responsibilities. Concerns and allegations will be taken seriously and responded to appropriately.
